As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, De Novo has implemented the following policies to ensure the safety of our clients, staff and volunteers. Please check back regularly for updates.

De Novo offices remain closed to the public in order to help slow the spread of the COVID-19 virus. All legal and counseling staff are working remotely with services being provided during regular business hours by video and phone call. Limited in-person meetings are held by appointment only.

  • At De Novo, we're committed to making sure clients have the most accurate, up-to-date information they need to make decisions about their health. Visit denovo.org/vaccinefaq for answers to our clients' frequently asked questions about the COVID-19 vaccine.

  • Our weekly Housing Court ‘Lawyer For the Day’ Clinic is suspended until courts reopen to the public. Eligible tenants in Arlington, Belmont, Cambridge, Medford, Newton, and Somerville can now request legal advice over the phone by calling (617) 661-1010.

  • Our monthly Immigration Legal Screening Clinic is being held virtually until our offices reopen to the public. Massachusetts residents in need of legal advice on immigration matters can call our Immigration Hotline at (617) 405-5479 to request a free legal consultation with an attorney.

Additionally, all Massachusetts trial courts and many agencies have changed the way they are providing services. Please call the Massachusetts court Help Line at 833-91COURT for general questions about Massachusetts court cases and help navigating the state court system. The Help Line is staffed Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
